Top 5 CRO Uses VISTA for Multi-National EDC Clinical Trial

VISTA, a web-based site assessment management service for electronic data capture studies, adds new business with a top 5 Contract Research Organization (CRO).

MEDIA, PA February 8, 2008 - Scientific Software Tools, Inc. (SST), a leader in the area of technology-enabling software and services for clinical trials announced today that a top 5 CRO selected VISTA, a web-based site assessment management service, for use in a multi-national Electronic Data Capture (EDC) clinical trial.

Before an EDC clinical study begins, a site assessment is performed to ensure that the technology infrastructure at the investigative sites meets the study requirements. This is currently performed manually by contacting site personnel through paper surveys and multiple phone calls to request highly technical information about their computers. VISTA streamlines this process by automating the collection of such information, thus shortening the process by up to 2 weeks. Using VISTA, the necessary information is obtained within seconds to minutes and an automated report is electronically delivered to all designated stakeholders.

According to Elise Furman, President of Scientific Software Tools Inc., "We are clearly gaining traction with pharmaceutical sponsors and CROs who are recognizing the value of the VISTA technology in improving the site assessment process. This is evident from the fact that the top 5 CRO chose VISTA because of the ease-of-use, timesavings and accuracy it offered as compared to their existing manual site assessment processes."

"VISTA has consistently exceeded the expectations of our customers. We will continue to improve and upgrade VISTA to provide a high-quality service that enhances the site assessment experience for all stakeholders involved in a clinical study."
