Quality Data Services, Inc. Successfully Implements VISTA for EDC Study
Web-based investigative site technology assessment service improves clinical
study start-up for pharmaceutical companies, CROs and EDC providers by removing
time, cost and inaccuracies from the technology assessment process
MEDIA, PA May 23, 2006 - Scientific Software Tools, Inc.
(SST), a leader in the area of technology enabling software and services for
clinical trials, and Quality Data Services, Inc. (QDS), a leading Contract Research
Organization, announce that QDS has successfully used VISTA, the investigative
site technology assessment service, in a key multinational electronic data capture
(EDC) clinical trial.
Before an EDC clinical study begins a technology assessment of the PCs at
remote investigative sites is performed to ensure that they meet the requirements
of the study. This is typically done by time-consuming and costly manual paper-driven
surveys or on-site visits. VISTA, a web-based service designed specifically
for non-technical users in clincial research, automates this process and saves
days to weeks of time. Within seconds to minutes VISTA quickly and accurately
assesses, captures, and reports on the technology infrastructure of remote sites
anywhere around the world. VISTA is highly customizable and benefits pharmaceutical
companies, CROs, and EDC providers.
Nancy Kohl, President of Quality Data Services, Inc., explains, “VISTA is
simple and easy for investigative sites to use, and it provides quick and accurate
information for our clinical and support staff.” When asked what she has heard
from staff, investigators and support desk personnel regarding VISTA, Ms. Kohl
said, “I do not hear about VISTA, I just hear that site assessment has been
completed quickly, easily and without a hitch, and that was my goal when selecting
VISTA.”
Elise Furman, President of Scientific Software Tools, Inc., adds, “VISTA
was designed to help eliminate frustration for investigators and CRAs, and cut
costs for site technology assessment, from a small pilot study to the biggest
international clinical trial.”
